Frieda has been interested in musicals since childhood and took part in them both on stage and in the orchestra pit. Since moving to the Netherlands, she has given presentations on the history of the musical, taken part in musicals and been a musical director.

Her newest project is the course Musicals! together with Jonathan Geenen. Enjoy singing? Are you between 16 and 100? Join Musicals! Come improve your skills and get onstage experience learning the basics of singing and acting in a musical. We’ll cover the history of musical theater, singing basics and staging through performing numbers live from each decade of musical theater history. Experience the evolution of the modern musical and challenge yourself to be a part of the magic. Experienced director Jonathan Geenen and musical director Frieda Jacobowitz will lead the workshop on Saturdays from November through April.

The course is given at Platform C, Stadsplein 99 in Amstelveen.
WHEN: We started on Saturday, November 16, 2019.  There is still room for a few more participants. Join us for four Saturdays in March and be part of the presentation on April 2nd.  We will be presenting songs from different musicals, including: Guys and Dolls, Fiddler on the Roof, Company and Les Misérables.
